Oleskey, Arthur K., 85, Johnstown, died October 5, 2015 with his family by his side. Born January 1, 1930 in Sharon PA to the late Pius Sylvester and Ruth (Brickly) Oleskey. Preceded in death by brother, Pius Oleskey Jr. Arthur was the beloved husband of Donna Bernado for over 57 years. He leaves his three children, John King Oleskey and wife Mary Reckner, Davidsville; Rebecca and husband Brad Fell, Longmont, CO; and Arthur Oleskey and wife Emily Otto, Gettysburg. Also survived by five sisters, Marcella Shimp; Mildred Dunkerly; Margaret Bush; Ruthie Lavin; Lillian Matzel; sister-in-law, Barbara Jazwinski Oleskey; and six grandchildren, Megan Oleskey; Maggie Fell; Katelyn Oleskey; Thomas Oleskey; Jake Fell; and Joseph Oleskey. Art served in the United States Air Force, 934th signal battalion during the Korean War as a radio operator and received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star. Art retired from the Pennsylvania State Police. During retirement he worked as a Deputy for Somerset County Sheriff’s Department, Officer at the Waterways Conversation, and Rockwood Insurance Company and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Art and Donna raised their children in Lower Burrell and spent a short time in Norristown, NJ before retiring in Davidsville. He adored his grandchildren and spending time hunting, fishing, and golfing. Art touched the lives of many people and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He was very grateful for the generosity of his good friend, Chuck Carrico, who selflessly drove Art to his doctor appointments. At Art’s request there will be no service or viewing.
