Shaffer, Barbara A., 81, Davidsville, passed away July 12, 2016 at Laurel View Village.  Born September 1, 1934 in Somerset, daughter of the late Edwin and Florence (Miller) Witt.  Survived by loving husband, Lowell D; daughters, Leslie Ann Yoder (Wendell) and Gretchen Klein (Steven); grandchildren, Hannah Yoder, Carrie Atwell, Zachary Atwell, and Joshua Klein; step-sister, Jean Hochard-Snyder; sister, Janet Witt; brother, Edwin Witt Jr.; and nieces, Lisa Fosbrink and Lois Witt-Canton.  Barbara was the President of the Lutheran Church Women of the Allegheny Synod.  She also served as President and office holder for the Sage Herbalist.  Barbara was an active member of St. David’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for 56 years, and enjoyed teaching bible school and Sunday school, singing in the church choir and being an Altar Guild.  Her hobbies included gourmet cooking, painting, all types of sewing and crafts, walking and exercising, and being a wine expert.  She was annually active in the Mountain Craft Days and enjoyed gardening flowers and herbs.  A memorial service will be held July 23, 2016 at St. David’s Lutheran Church at 11 a.m., Rev. Gregory R. Pile, officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. David’s Lutheran Church at 401 N.
