Born January 8, 1924, Johnstown, daughter of the late Theodore T. and Gertrude (Blue) Metzger. Preceded in death by her husband, John T. Allison; infant son, Ernest Charles Allison; brother, T.T. Metzger, Jr.; Norman Floyd Metzger; and sister, Rhoda Evans. Survived by her loving sister, Evelyn Howard; children, Darlene Thomas (Robert); John Allison, Jr. (Carol); Theodore Allison (Mary); Bonnie Bouch (Terry); special son Robert “Bobby” Allison, who was the light of her life; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Betty was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, where she and her husband served as deacons for many years. She also taught Sunday School and was a member of the Middle Taylor Twp. Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was a gentle prayer warrior who loved God and always prayed for her family and friends continually. For many years, her large family enjoyed her delicious Sunday dinners. We wish to express our love and appreciation to the caring and compassionate staff in the Crossroads Unit at Arbutus Park Manor and to AseraCare Hospice. The loving care they provided to our mom over the past year, not only warmed our hearts, but will be remembered always. Friends will be received Monday, May 2 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. and Tuesday, May 3 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 856 Benshoff Hill Rd., Pastor Rob Wolf, officiating.
