White, Charles “Chuck” R., 85, Johnstown, PA, passed away August 14, 2016 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born July 27, 1931 in Penn Township. Preceded in death by his parents Milton S. and Rebecca (Cole) White; brothers, Robert and Eugene; and sister, Freda. Survived by wife of 52 years, Sharon J. Tavalsky; daughters, Sherry L. White; Rebecca M. White (Jeffery B. Frazier); and Jennifer S. White, all of Pittsburgh, PA; grandson, Alexander B. Kinney of Pittsburgh and Tucson; brother, Carl; sisters, Doris Booher (Larry); Mildred Praksti; Marjorie Masters (Clyde); Nancy Arsenault; Betty Firmstone (Bill); and numerous nieces and nephews. Chuck graduated from Ligonier High School and Cambria Rowe Business College, was a Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War and retired from the Pennsylvania Electric Company after 33 years of service. He was an ECHL Off-Ice Official for the Johnstown Jets and Johnstown Chiefs from 1961 – 2013.  Chuck was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was proud to serve as a Constable in Upper Yoder Township for over ten years. Chuck also enjoyed traveling all over the United States with his wife and relished riding his Silver Wing motorcycle throughout the Johnstown region. Family and friends will be received from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave, with a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Wayne Ayer, officiating.
