Wertz, Joseph T., 67, South Fork, died peacefully July 21, 2016 at UPMC Shadyside. Born April 28, 1949 to the late Kenneth and Josephine (Zadlo) Wertz. Survived by wife, Sylvia (Walker); son, K. Scott Wertz; step-son, Marzy David Walker; and grandson, Justin Walker. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was highly decorated with medals including, a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and an Air Medal. Joseph worked 23 years as a printer at Sedloff Publications before becoming a correctional officer at SCI Somerset. His hobbies involved hunting, fishing, crosswords, and bowling. Joseph also enjoyed hockey and trips to the casino. At Joseph’s request there will be no viewing. Services will be held privately.
