KAPELLO-Joyce 84, Hastings joined her deceased husband, Louis, and her infant daughter, Mary Ann, on May 11. She was born on September 28, 1930 in Altoona, PA, daughter of the late Edward and Inez Gallagher, Ashville, PA.
She is survived by her three children: daughter, Cheryl Durbin Miller of Greenwood-Altoona, and husband, Smoke Miller, son, Ronald Kapello and wife, Debra Dibello, Patton, PA and daughter, Francine Kapello Albritton and husband Robert Bynum Albritton III, Herndon, VA. Joyce adored her two grandchildren: Mrs. Erica Durbin, Pittsburgh, PA and Robert (Robbie) Albritton IV, Herndon, VA. Erica is married to Mr. Aaron Reinard, formerly of California. Joyce took pride and pleasure in spending time with granddaughter, Erica 39 and Robbie 12. She also has a step-granddaughter, Stephanie (Dibello), married to Dean Farnsworth, Lewisburg, PA. Joyce graduated from Penn Cambria High School, where she excelled in shorthand. She worked at the Van Heusen shirt factory in Patton, PA, and she also worked for Boyer Candy and Sylvania Lighting in Altoona, PA. After retiring, she enjoyed craft fairs, where she gained an interest in making silk flower arrangements. She also enjoyed spending time with her best friend Dorothy Waksmunski. She was previously on the finance committee at Saint Bernard’s Church, and she was a former “Women Of The Moose” chapter member and officer, in Hastings, PA. Joyce was the matriarch and surviving member of her family. She is preceded in death by: sisters: Jesse Auberzinski, Gertrude Storm, Doris Ziance, Jean Grevis, and her beloved sister, Patricia (Nook) McMullen. She also survived her brothers, Francis, Paul, and Nelson Gallagher, all originally from Ashville, PA. Joyce was blessed with an extended family: her dedicated neighbors and friends. All friends and family can pay their final respects to Joyce at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver Street, Hastings, PA. Visitation will be held this Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. There will also be a visitation at St. Bernard’s Church, Saturday at 10:00 am, Hastings, PA. Her life will be celebrated following the church visitation at a funeral mass, 11am on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.Org.
