Maiorana, Lois Elaine, 82, Johnstown, died July 23, 2016 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born October 2, 1933 in East Taylor Twp; daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Vuicich) Spanovich. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Anna Marie Maiorana; sisters, Dolly Kleinosky, June Bigler and Donna MacMurdo. Survived by husband of 62 years, Rudy; children, Paul and wife, Sueko Kumagai, Washington, DC; Natalie Riccilli and husband, John, Windber; beloved grandsons, Jesse Paul Trentini and Gian Carlo Riccilli. Also survived by an aunt, Amelia Kolar, cousins, Melissa Kolar and Helen Spanovich; brother-in-law, Bob MacMurdo; sister-in-law, Charlene Maiorano; niece, Amy Miller and husband Michael; nephews, Robert MacMurdo and wife Amy, Michael MacMurdo and wife Sue; great nephews, Andrew Kubala, Nate and Jake Miller, Benny MacMurdo and also special friends, Denise, Ken and Lori Rose Eamigh. Lois was a graduate of the former Conemaugh High School and a member of the former St. George Serbian Orthodox Church.  She was a strong supporter of Native American Heritage and often traveled to participate in “pow-wows.”  She was an excellent cook and baker and an avid reader but what she enjoyed most was spending time with family, especially her grandsons, who called her “Ubby.” She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.  Friends received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27th with Trisagion Prayers of Mercy, by Very Rev. Fr. Donald Shadid, at 5 p.m., at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. 1521 Frankstown Rd.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday July 28th at 10 am, Very Rev. Fr. Donald Shadid officiating.  Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Labre Indian School, 1000 Tongue River Rd, Ashland, MT 59004.   Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.”
