Kovach, Miklos, 85, Johnstown, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family, July 25, 2015 at LaurelWood Care Center. Born November 17, 1929, in Kisvarda, Hungary, to the late Joachim and Maria (Cszmadia) Kovacs. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria (Bacskai). Survived by his three children, Mary M. (Rick) Dull, Pittsburgh; Steven P. Kovach, Johnstown; Judith K. Kovach, Latrobe; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mike was an active member at St. Emerich’s Hungarian Catholic Church, Hungarian American Citizens Club, Knights of Columbus, and was the founder and proud owner of M. Kovach and Son Ornamental Iron Works for over five decades. Mike immigrated to the U.S. after the Hungarian uprising of 1956, where his family naturalized their citizenship in 1965, but was still a frequent traveler to his homeland. Mike was a devoted family man and was proud of his family, he will be dearly missed. At his request there will be a private family interment at Grandview Cemetery, Fr. Francis Balestino, officiating.
