Gardner, Nancy, 76, Johnstown, died  peacefully at home Oct. 22, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born April 15, 1938, in Johnstown, daughter of the late James and Vera (Berkheimer) Felix. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harry Charles; daughters, Renee, married to James Patrick, Johnstown, and Carrie, Johnstown; son, Craig, and his companion, Amanda, Virginia; her grandchildren, Lauren and Sam Patrick, Seth and McKenna Ray and Harrison Gardner; and her siblings, James T. Felix, married to Barbara (Davis), Seward; Sally, married to Daniel Hudak, Virginia; and Gary, married to Janie (Freyberger), New Mexico. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and was an uplifting friend to many. Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Johnstown High School. She worked at Penelec until getting married. She raised her children as a stay-at-home mom, and later worked at General Electric and Laws Jewelry Store. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and collecting pottery. Her biggest joy in life was her grandchildren. She was always there for them and enjoyed cheering them on at their sporting events. Nancy was a member of Westmont Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon and on various church committees. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Westmont Presbyterian Church, 601 Luzerne St., Johnstown, Pastor Craig Miller, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
