Obituary

Westrick, Dolores C.”Toots”,94, of Hastings went home to Lord on January 2, 2025, to  be with her beloved husband John “Pat”, who passed in October 2012. She was the last surviving member of the Wilfred and Agens (Thomas) Strittmatter family. Also preceded in death brothers, Regis, Thomas, Paul, James “Buck”, and Anthony (infant); sisters, Bernadette Hadden, Agnes Short, Virgina Strittmatter, and Anna Catherine (infant).

She survived by children, Mary (Ray) Shingle of Chest Springs, Joseph and Kenneth of Hastings; grandchildren, John (Lacey) Shingle and Nicole Standard; great grandchildren, Cameron and Sadie Shingle.

Dolores worked at the Patton shirt factory for 13 years before becoming a stay-at-home mother. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She wanted to thank her family for taking care of her after her devoted husband passed away. She enjoyed making homemade quilts and baking cookies especially for Christmas. She liked playing cards and games with her kids. She was a devoted Catholic and would pray for hours every day. She was a member of St. Bernard/St. Boniface parish.  The family will receive friends on Sunday January 5^th,2025 from 2pm. until 5pm. at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home 333 Beaver Street Hasting, PA 16646; and from 10am until the 11am Mass on Monday January 6th at St. Boniface Church. The family would like to thank UPMC HomeHeathcare/ Hospice for their care of Dolores. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Boniface Church, or to the American Heart Association.
