Obituary

Plowchin, Mark Alan, 50, of Brownstown-Johnstown, passed away on December 7, 2024. Born July 9, 1974, son of George and Margaret (Popovich) Plowchin. He will be remembered as a strong-willed, loving, and devoted man who left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Mark was preceded in death by his father, George; and his sister, Kelly. He is survived by his beloved mother, Marge; nephew, Jesse; his girlfriend, Kristen; his cherished fur kids, Piper, Luigi, Bullet, and Cody; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him. A proud graduate of Ferndale High School, Triangle Tech, and the Conemaugh School of Nursing, Mark was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse employed with Bayada Home Health Care. His passion for helping others defined his professional life and his character. Mark was a proud NASCAR fan who cherished his time at Jennerstown Speedway. He was also an artist at heart, finding joy in wood carving, leatherwork, and fixing cars—a testament to his creativity and craftsmanship. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 17^th at 11 A.M. at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 324 Chestnut Street, officiated by Rev. George M. Gulash. Interment will follow at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Mark’s memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
