Obituary

Harris-Reginald W., of Johnstown, Pa went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2025, unexpectedly. He was born on May 6th, 1951, in Vance County, NC. He was the son of the late James A. Harris and Georgianna B. Harris. Also, preceded in death by siblings Ulysees Bullock, Ester Pearson, Dwight Harris, Malray Terry, Nathaniel Bullock and Helen, Essie, Emma, Susie, Cecelia, Lucy, James, Samuel and Lincoln. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Debbie Harris, and, sisters-in-law, Karen, Donna, Lisa and Colleen.

Reginald was affectionately called “Red” a childhood nickname that followed him into adulthood. He grew up and attended school in Vance County, NC, where his early life experiences helped shape a strong sense of independence and a deep appreciation for community. Raised in church, he was grounded in the values his mother instilled in her children, lessons of faith, service, and care for others that remained with him throughout his life.

He retired from Laborers Local 910 where he worked in construction for 26 years. He was an avid Steelers Fan, loyal through every snap, but groans through the losses like it’s a personal betrayal. He also enjoyed fishing which was his peace, patience and passion all in one. He is survived by his siblings: George Bullock (Evelyn) NC, Gail Martin (Anthony) NC, Barbara Burney GA, Margie Bullock NJ, Jessie Burney NC. And, a host of nieces, nephews and many family and friends who will miss him dearly. He is the father of Dr. Reginald W. Harris Jr. NC, Dr. Nichol D. Harris PA, Monique Y. Newsome (Steve) VA. He is the grandfather of Raina, Willow, and Ariana Harris, Ryan and Michael Johnson and Giovanni Lewis.

A private viewing and ceremony will be held on Thursday, Dec 18th at 10am.  A memorial ceremony and celebration of Reginald’s life will be held next year in the hometown that shaped his early years.
