Obituary

Betts, Nancy Jane, 92, Johnstown died April 3, 2011 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born November 1, 1918 in Johnstown, daughter of Gladys Mangus Ellsworth and raised by grandparents, William and Margaret Mangus. Preceded in death by parents, grandparents, husband Joseph E. Betts, only child, Ronald E. Betts, sisters Margaret Mateljan and Catherine Liptak, brothers Charles A. Ellsworth; Walter Leroy Ellsworth Richard G. Ellsworth and John E. Mangus and one great-granddaughter.

Survived by grandchildren, Joseph E. Betts II; Michelle Betts; Wendy Betts and Hannah Betts; sisters Betty L Warchola, Carlisle; Virginia J. Suddreth, Ohio and Georgiane Schropp, Johnstown; brothers Stephen Ellsworth Jr., North Carolina and William Nelson Ellsworth, Indiana, PA. Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law May Kay Ellsworth.

Nancy was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, President of Church Women United, Past President of Lady Menoher Auxiliary to Post 155 VFW, member of Lee Hospital Auxiliary, past officer of District United Methodist Women. She served on many committees for many things and also served on the Board at Cambria City Mission. She was a member of the American Bible Society and a member of the Arbutus Park Manor Auxiliary.

Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Friday at Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., where service will be held at 11am Saturday. Rev. Don Brauer, officiating. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Laurelwood Care Center, Grane Hospice or the Cambria City Mission.
