Adams, Clair M. “Slug”, 81, Cresson/Portage, died October 18, 2015 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center after a battle with lung cancer. Born September 1, 1934; he was the oldest son of Eunola (Lysinger) and R. Clair Adams. Siblings include N. Marie (deceased), Eunola Jean, Charles, J. Benjamin, Herbert, and Gloria. He was the father of Shelly, married to Don Alexander and had 2 granddaughters, Marissa and Janice. Clair was a Chief Petty Officer, serving on the USS Lloyd Thomas and continued in the Naval Reserves. Over the years he operated several local businesses including Adams Supply Company, A.B.Bell Inc., Triple T. Enterprises, CMA Builders, and J&R Distributors. In lieu of a funeral, Clair chose to celebrate his life with family and friends at an 81st birthday party singing karaoke. His kind heart and generous spirit will be missed.
