Hamula, George, 82, Johnstown, passed away peacefully November 19, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and his faithful dog, Bo. Born September 20, 1936 to the late Wasil and Mary (Pekera) Hamula. Preceded in death by siblings, John, Steve, Nicholas, Wasil, Andrew, Harry, Michael, and Frank Hamula; Ann Bonk; Nellie O’Saben; and beloved dog, Jiggs. Survived by loving wife, Veronica (Ponczek) Hamula; son, Steven Hamula and wife Tracie (Brazil); devoted daughter, Denice Kirchoff; grandson, Nicholas Kirchoff; sister, Mary Schilling and husband Bernard; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Gregory and Barnabas Church. He was hardworking and always willing to help family and friends with whatever project needed done. George was initially self-employed with a Texaco service station and then later retired as an auto mechanic from GTE. He was a member of the Conemaugh Eagles, Richland Legion, Conemaugh Fire Company, Daisytown Fire Club, and Woodvale Athletic Club. Family would like to thank Windber Hospice, Dr. Kelly Warshel, Connie Gentile and nurses Ginger and Steve for all the love and care they provided to George. Friends will be received Friday November 23 from 3-7 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., where a service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial and military honors to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
