Obituary

MITCHELL – Robert Donald, 76, Upper Yoder Twp., died April 3, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 16, 1932 in Johnstown. Son of the late Ralph T. and Fern A. (Myers) Mitchell. Survived by daughter Robin married to Charles Hagins and grandson Conner Charles Hagins, Johnstown; sisters Nancy Fern, Johnstown and Judith Wasylson, Pittsburgh and brothers Ralph Mitchell, Laurel, MD and Jerry Mitchell, Denver, CO. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Marguerite Castania. Robert was retired from the State of PA where he worked in Labor Relations and Personnel Officer at the Public Welfare Office in Johnstown and Torrance State Hospital. He was a Master Sergeant for the USAF having served from 1951 to 1971. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. A private wake service will be held in Robert’s honor at the convenience of the family. Friends may send a donation of a stuffed animal in Robert’s memory to Conner’s Cuddles for Kids. A charity project that was started by his grandson. Donations are being accepted at Valley Printing and Design during normal business hours.
