WALTER – Amos E. “Ned”, 99, Johnstown, died January 5, 2009. Born February 28, 1909 in Johnstown; son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Buckwalter) Walter. Preceded in death by wife, Dorothy W. (Ashcom) Walter; sons, William H. and Vaughn A. Walter; and 4 brothers. He is survived by children, Frederick G. Walter married to Lola, Tampa, FL; Patricia Mikolic married to Joseph, Johnstown; Irvin E. Walter married to Shirley A., Greenville, SC; and Carl E. Walter married to Mary, Elizabethtown; brother, Robert Walter, Johnstown; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Friends received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. John Manges officiating. Interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Morrellville Church of the Brethren church memorial fund.
