Obituary

Dorothy C., 94, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord, April 29, 2010, at Arbutus Park Manor.

Born September 9, 1915, in Glassport. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Andrew C. and Laura (Over) Curran. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William T. Hindman and a son, Robert W. Hindman.

Survived by a son, William T. “Tom” Hindman II married to Dr. Shirley A. (Paonessa) Hindman; grandsons, Bill married to Prudy (Hetz) Hindman and Brad married to Jennifer (Geist) Hindman, all of Johnstown; four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kira, Ava, and Sawyer Hindman; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie (Reese) Hindman, Harrisburg, and a sister, Ruth married to W. Harry Schaffer, Lebanon.

Mrs. Hindman retired in 1978 from Westmont Hilltop Schools with 32 yrs service. During the course of her career she pioneered many curriculum innovations in the field of home economics.

Lifelong faithful and devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church, Johnstown. Charter member of the West End Lioness Club.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday at the Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Beth Brashear officiating. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
