Obituary

Kurtz, John W., 86, Johnstown, died April 6, 2011 at Kittaning Care Center. Born Sept. 28, 1924 in Johnstown, son of the late Emory and Magdaline (Ferenez) Kurtz. Preceded in death by brothers Emory and Albert.

Survived by wife of 63 years, Louise (Owens) Kurtz, Johnstown and these children, William Kurtz and wife, Pat, Belmont, CA; Christine, married to Howard Pickell, Schenksville, PA; John Kurtz and wife, Namm, Seattle, WA; Richard Kurtz, Pittsburgh and Steve Kurtz and wife, Renay, Johnstown. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

John was a electronic technician for RCA, a US Army Veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years and a member of Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church. He was also a volunteer at St Vincent DePaul.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a memorial mass at 11 am Saturday at Visitation Catholic Church. Inurnment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
