Obituary

Yachtis, Amelia A., 89, Hastings, died Monday April 2, 2012; at HAIDA Manor.

Born February 26, 1923; in Hastings; she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (Strittmatter) Abel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony C. Yachtis; sisters, Theresa Yahner, Edna Becker, Mildred Gleydura; brothers, Walter and Patrick Abel.

Survived by children, Dan J. (Carol) Yachtis, Northern Cambria, Sister Juliana L. Yachtis R.S.C.J., Tom J. (Candace) Yachtis, Stevens, PA; sister, Dorothy Falcone, Bridgeton, NJ; brothers, Eloi Abel, Altoona, Clayton Abel, Beaumont, TX; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Yachtis worked at the Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Patton and Barnesboro as a pattern maker for 40 years.

She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Sodality Society, Legion of Mary, Ladies Fire Auxiliary, Moose Lodge 353; and past Vice President of the Senior Citizens.

She loved her family, friends and helping others. Her hobbies were quilting, travel and baking.
Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hastings.

A funeral Mass with be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Burial will follow at the church Cemetery.

of the Sacred Heart.
