Obituary

McCurdy, George H., 80, Bon Air, died May 25, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving companion and fianc Elsie Troup; brother, Calvin and nephew John.

Born November 28, 1931 in Robinson, PA, son of William C. and Pearl (Shulty) McCurdy.

Preceded in death by parents; wife, Elra Mae (Hill) McCurdy; son, David A.; sisters, Elsie H. Myers and Alberta Croyle; brother William McCurdy Jr. and 1/2 brother Arthur Young.

Survived by children, Georgette DeJesus Lui, Daytona Beach, FL; George H. Jr., Lakeland, FL and Cindy Burkhart, Johnstown; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Calvin H., Woodbrine, GA and Ronald L., Portage, IN; fianc and companion, Elsie Troup, Bon Air; numerous nieces and nephews and buddy, Perky.

George was a retired foreman for Bethlehem Steel, a US Army veteran during the Korean Conflict and loved hunting and fishing. He loved to go to their camp with his bidduies Steve; Butch; Mike; Greg; Danny and John. He was a very gentle, loving man and will be missed very much.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James E Van Zandt Medical Center, Johnstown.
