Obituary

Wicks, Arden W. “Art”, 67, Salix, died April 5, 2013 at home. Born January 25, 1946 in Johnstown; son of the late Clifford and Velma (Long) Wicks. Preceded in death by parents, father in law, Darl Oswalt, sister in law, Diane (Oswalt) Joerg, and nephew M. Travis Karan. Survived by wife Kay (Oswalt) Wicks, son Jeffrey and wife Cindy (Podrebarac), and daughter Denise married to Shawn Sivi all of Salix. Grandchildren Tony, David, Hannah, Alyssa, Robbie, and Tyler. Brother of Clifford Wicks, Lois married to Doug Karan, Gordon and wife Deborah, Paul and wife Jean Ann, and Roy and wife Deborah. Also survived by mother in law Carmen Oswalt and numerous nieces and nephews. Arden was an army Veteran and retired linesman and cable splicer for Verizon. He also worked at DRS for 5 years after retiring from Verizon. Member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where friends will be received Saturday from 10am until time of memorial service at 11am. The Rev David Streets officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Church in Arden’s memory.
