Obituary

Lavis, James F., 56, Johnstown, died March 24, 2014 at home. Born June 30, 1957 in Johnstown, son of the late Charles D. and Arlene (Tiffany) Lavis. Preceded in death by son, Jesse A. Lavis. Survived by wife, Diane (Rouser) Lavis, Johnstown; daughter Jamie Lynne Lavis, New Columbia, PA; son Casey James Lavis, Johnstown and father and mother-in-law, Merle and Donna Rouser, Johnstown. Jim worked in the mold shop for DRS and was a steel fabricator for various companies in the Johnstown area, was a member of the Belmont United Methodist Church and He enjoyed golfing and trips to the beach, especially Hilton Head. Friends will be received from 5 to 8pm Thursday at the Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., where funeral service will be held at 10am Friday. Rev. Keith Dunn officiating. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cambria County Humane Society.
