Obituary

Kotch, Joseph James Sr. “Jimmy”, 75, Windber, went to be with the Lord September 22, 2014, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital; surrounded by his loving family. Born December 18, 1938, in Windber; a son of the late John Sr. and Anna Theresa (Marion) Kotch. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Rose Marie Hersh. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Loretta Marie (Secora); son Joseph James Kotch Jr. and his fiancée Tracey Griese; son Kevin Kotch and his wife Marlene (Dallas); daughter Debra Kotch Miller; son Eric A. Kotch and his wife Melissa (Maddy); his grandchildren Shane J. Kotch and his companion Hannah Marker; Kassie J. Kotch and her fiancée Brandon Smith, Lindsay Kotch Durst and her husband Jon; Thomas McDonald and his fiancée Laura Dautrich; Jess McDonald; Isabella Kotch; Step grandchildren, Renee Kruise and her husband Jason, James Dallas III and his fiancée Samantha Partsch; great grandchildren, Aliveah J. Smith, Giuliana A. Baldwin, Connor J. Kotch, Jenzen L. Durst, Julia R. Durst. and Paige E. Dallas; Joseph is also survived by his brothers, John Kotch, William Kotch; his sisters Margaret Byers, Patricia Kotch, and his sister, Sister Maria of Sacred Heart of Cresson, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph graduated in the class of 1958 from Windber High School. He served in the National Guard and worked as a meat manager at Thorofare Markets. He also spent part of his career working for Froehlicks as well as Conzatti’s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and making homemade Kielbasa. Friends received 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. where a memorial service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Father Rustin, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
