Obituary

HILL – Olive (Marshall) (Saly), 91, died peacefully January 12th, in the presence of her children.  Born May 4, 1923.  Daughter of the late Charles and Charlotte (Rupert) Marshall.  Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Elwood (Mike) Hill.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 7 years, Robert Saly Sr.; brothers, Jackie, Charles Jr., M. Patrick, Thomas, and Dwayne Marshall.  Survived by sister Emma Crossen, SC; children, Karen (James) Saylor Sr., Davidsville, and Dwayne Hill, Johnstown; grandchildren, James Saylor III, Kathleen Jones, Jennifer (Christopher) Crocco, and Daniel (Janice Siplivy) Hill, all of Johnstown; and 9 great grandchildren.  Olive was employed by Dr. Freda Sattel, and later by Dr. Owen Morgan in their offices.  She was an active member of Ferndale United Methodist Church.  Her greatest love was for her family and church.  She enjoyed painting and writing poetry and loved music.  Family and friends will be received at Hindman Funeral Homes, 1521 Frankstown Rd, on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  Service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Ferndale United Methodist Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ferndale United Methodist Church in her memory.  Arrangements in care of the Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
