Obituary

Swanger, Carol L., 80, Johnstown, passed away Sept. 9, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 2, 1936 to the late Glenn and Mildred (Dill) Berkebile. Preceded in death by husband, Raymond; and special aunt, Marlene Rippin, who had always been more like a sister to Carol.   Survived by daughters, Susette Harchick married to Michael; Linda Lear married to Randy; Melissa Oswalt married to Thomas; and grandchildren, Derek and Jared Lear; and Brady and Jadyn Oswalt. Carol was a teacher’s aide at St. Joe’s Catholic School before working as a receptionist for the Johnstown YMCA, where she later retired from. Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren and kept busy watching them until they were all old enough to start school. Friends will be received Wed. Sept. 13 from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., where a service will then be held at 10 a.m. Thurs.
