Obituary

Risko, Michael, 96, Johnstown, died Nov. 1, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 25, 1921, Vintondale, son of the late Michael and Anna (Yosie) Risko. Preceded in death by siblings, Shirley Barate; Ann Mileski; Julia Sado; Mary McGregor; and John Risko. Survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Agnes (Casper) Risko; sister, Christine Verba, Vintondale; children, Michael C. Risko and wife, Connie, Johnstown; Constance Katawczik and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Kimberly Ocipa; Robyn Buchan and husband, Walter; Jarrett Katawczik and wife, Amanda; Kristin Katawczik; great-grandchildren, Mickilee and Noah Buchan, Kaeden Katawczik;. Mike retired from Replogle’s Transport. He was a founding member of the East Taylor Twp. Volunteer Fire Company, serving as the financial and recording secretary for almost 40 years. Mike also served as a board member for the East Taylor Water Authority. He was a skilled carpenter and also enjoyed Nascar, Pirate games, card games, and fishing. Mike was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A private family viewing will be held at the convenience of the family.
