Obituary

Dallas, James D. Sr., 84, Mineral Point, died January 14, 2020 at his residence. Born June 2, 1935 to the late Lawrence D. “Dean” and Kathryn (Playez) Dallas. Preceded in death by his parents; and two of his siblings. Survived by wife of  63 years, Barbara A. (Haupt); daughter, Kim Kleban (Charles); son, James D. Dallas Jr. (Amy); grandchildren, Renee Kruise, James D. Dallas III (Samantha); two great grandchildren, Paige Dallas and James D. Dallas IV; as well as numerous nieces & nephews and other members of his extended family and friends. James was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a decorated Vietnam veteran. James also operated the Dallas Coal Company for 18 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking, playing basketball, camping with his family on the Juniata river, and just spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Dunlo Rod & Gun club. Friends and family will be received on Friday January 17, 2020 from to 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road. A funeral will be held at the funeral home on Saturday January 18, 2020 at 10 AM. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by  Menoher Post VFW #155.
