Obituary
Campagna, Joseph P., 65, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2020. Born on November 5, 1954, Joe was preceded in death by wife of 40 years Cheryl Ann (Fye), parents Nick and Barbara (Nelson) Campagna, and brothers Charlie and Michael. Joe is survived by children Michelle married to Walter Hamula, Mineral Point, Shannon, Johnstown, and Joe, Johnstown. Also survived by sister Anne Bowman (Dave), Bedford, brothers – Tony “Fin”, Nick (Mary), and John, and sister-in-law JoAnn, all of Johnstown, as well as father-in-law Richard Fye Sr., Salix, and brothers-in-law Richard Fye Jr., Salix, and Gary (Jackie), Windber. Joe had numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. His pride and joy were his grandchildren – Molly, Ashley, Wally, Makenna, and Vanessa. His best friends were his dogs – Eddie, Casey, and Ralphie, who were always by his side. Along with family, many friends were there to help Joe and his family by providing meals, rides, and support throughout his journey battling cancer. He wanted them to know how much he appreciated them – especially his best friend Rick and family friends Connie, Mary, and Tammy; and the staff of Windber Hospice. Joe was a graduate of Johnstown Vo – Tech and was an avid mechanic employed for over 40 years at many Johnstown auto shops. Joe was friendly, fun-loving person and was a member of several social clubs – the Woodvale Olympic Club, the Woodvale Athletic Club, AmSlo, Austrian Hall, Turners, and Conemaugh Eagles and will be dearly missed by all his friends there. Joe loved going to the casino, gambling, NASCAR, working on cars, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to be used for his grandchildren’s college funds. Due to current circumstances, there will be no service and friends and family are encouraged to visit his gravesite to pay their respects at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
