Obituary

DeRubis, Stephen J. “Pappy”, 63, of Johnstown, passed away December 28, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He was born on December 22, 1957 son of the late Stephen S. and Margaret (Sroka) DeRubis, in Johnstown. He is preceded in death by parents; mother-in-law Mary Paserba; and brother-in-law Daniel Paserba. Stephen is survived by loving wife, Karen (Paserba) DeRubis; children, Amanda Blough and husband Brett, of Johnstown; and Jeremy DeRubis and wife Ashley, of Johnstown; grandchildren, Hunter and Colton Blough; Preston DeRubis; and grandchild on the way, Jackson DeRubis; brother, Patrick DeRubis, of Johnstown; father in law Steve Paserba, of Johnstown; sister in law Lori Hoak and husband Rick, of Natrona Heights; and brother in law David Paserba and wife Pam, of Holsopple. Stephen worked for Ebensburg Center. He loved his grandsons dearly and got the biggest kick out of them. He loved going to Atlantic City with Karen, taking his boat to Glendale Lake, and also his dog Kenzi. Visitation will be January 7, 2021, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Home (1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, PA, 15902) where a service will be held at 7 p.m. Donations may be made in Stephen’s honor to the Humane Society.
