Obituary

Vogel, Maureen, 84, passed away on August 6, 2021, after a long and arduous journey with dementia. She lived in Johnstown from her birth until November 2012, when she relocated to Staunton, VA.
She was born on November 29, 1936, in Johnstown, PA, and was the 7th child of the late Francis Xavier and Mary Agnes (Noel) Marshall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Vogel, and her siblings Frank, Pat, Kay, Betty, Aggie and David. She is survived by her sister, Ginny, and by her children Brian Vogel of Staunton, VA, Teresa Vogel-Smith and her husband, Scott Smith, of Reston, VA, and Christopher Vogel, of Hummelstown, PA, as well as her grandchildren Lindsay (Vogel) Baker, Lauren Smith, Brandon Smith, and her great granddaughter, Brinley Ann Baker. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and many friends. We all loved her dearly.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 120 Boltz St., Johnstown, at 11 AM.
She will be interred in Grandview Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
