Travis Kutchma RN, MSN

The light of Travis joined the heavenly beauty that shines down and through us all.  

Travis was a devoted son to George and Elaine Kutchma and loving father to three sons, Jackson, Jacob and Andrew.  Loyal brother to Jason (Beth-Ann) and Shelli Ferraro (Gary), Jaimee (Nick).

Following graduation from Bishop McCort (Class of 1992) he went on to study Nursing.  After the completion of his Master’s Degree Travis worked in Management and Logistics at the Durham VA.  Throughout his almost twenty-five year career he provided care in various disciplines working in the ER at UNC, the Psych Ward and Burn Unit.  A few years ago Travis went to New York City to help with their COVID crisis.  While in the Burn Unit he volunteered in New York during 9/11.  He touched many lives.

The last few years were ones of tremendous personal fulfillment for him.  He loved to hit the gym and took Western Swing lessons.  He enjoyed a good hockey game as either a spectator or player and his love of music spanned all genres.  The last few weeks in Durham he was excited to learn Comedy Improv.  With a hilarious sense of humor, he was a natural.

The Kutchma family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 9 from 1:00 to 3:30pm at Hindman Funeral Homes, 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown PA 15902. In Travis’s honor we ask that you do not send flowers but, to please consider adopting a shelter animal or a donation to the Humane Society. A celebration of life is being planned for Spring 2024.
