Obituary

Riek, Margaret Louise “Peggy”, 78, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord December 20, 2023, at Windber Hospice. Born June 18, 1945, to the late James M. and Ida (Dunmyer) Dougherty. Also preceded in death by sister, Betty Truscello; Marjory Magdelenic, Barbara Zeglin; and brothers, John “Jack” and Patrick Dougherty. Survived by loving husband of 57 years, Robert D. Riek; children, Lisa married to Randy Schellhammer; Robert S. Riek (Laura); grandchildren, Landon and Rachel; great grandson, Maverick; and sister, Ruth Wright. Former employee of Gee Bee Department Store, Capri Pizza at the Richland Mall, Conzattis Restaurant, County Market, and Walmart Bakery. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was selfless, always putting her family first throughout her life. Family will receive friends Friday December 22nd from 4-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., where additional viewing will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Father Matt Baum, officiating.
