Obituary

Sokach, Michael J. II, 82, Johnstown, passed away December 22, 2023, at The Villa Personal Care Home. Born December 24, 1940, to the late Michael and Mary (Oleksa) Sokach. Preceded in death by loving wife, Veronica (Watroba) Sokach. Survived by son, Michael Sokach III (Kimberly); siblings, Mary Ann Spanko (Bob); John Sokach; James Sokach; Deborah Keytack (Mick); Donna Curtis (Jeff); and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Park Hill American Legion for 52 years. He was also a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church and a former member of Button Box Club. Michael loved playing the accordion and collecting Lionel Trains. Special thank you to the staff at DaVita Dialysis, The Villa, and Penn Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Michael.
