Obituary

Farris, Barbara Ann “Bunny”, 86, Boswell, passed away December 27, 2023, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born December 17, 1937, to the late Francis and Helen (Friske) Ryniak. Preceded in death by great grandson, Ryan; and siblings, Carol Shaulis and husband Robert; and Francis Ryniak. Survived by loving husband, William E. Farris; children, William F. Farris (Beverly); Melinda Wood (George); Joseph P. (Kimberly); grandchildren, William J. Farris (Jamie); Lindsey Hammond (Michael); Daniel Farris (Bethany); Garrick Wood (Stacey); Alyssa Wood; Nicole Stockdale (Justin); great grandchildren, Zek, Peyton, Hannah, Jason, Aria, William D., Madison, Malorie, Logan, Jacob, Nathan, Barron, and Callum; siblings, Patricia Gontis (David); Frances Horner (Roger); Michelene Sansig; sister-in-law, Gloria Dawn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bunny loved attending church and was passionate about teaching Sunday School. She was a custodian for North Star School District, where she enjoyed seeing all the kids. Bunny was a collector of angels and loved anything to do with flowers. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Saturday January 6th at Christian Community Church, 2610 Lincoln Hwy, Stoystown, from 12 p.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. Pastor Charles Kelly, officiating. In Bunny’s memory, donations may be made to St. Jude’s, the Association for the Blind, or Veteran Community Initiatives.
