Penrod, Thomas Neil, “Iceman”, 71, of Johnstown, died February 13, 2024 at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. Born July 22, 1952 in Johnstown, son of Thomas L. and Helen (Felix) Penrod. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Beverly (Sowerbrower) Penrod; wives, Rose Bach and Kimberly Maur; brothers, Roger and wife Patricia, Calvin, and David Penrod; and sister Linda Howard-Snyder. Survived by first wife, Janet (Smith) Penrod; son, Neil Thomas Penrod of Johnstown; daughter, Amanda and son-in-law Eric Derr of Lancaster, PA; Granddaughter, Aydon Penrod of Johnstown, Olivia Derr of Lancaster, PA; Grandson, Alex Derr of Lancaster. Also survived by sister, Sharon Peterson; brothers, Kenneth Sr. (Rebecca), Dwayne Kim (Kathy), and Walter James (Natalie) Penrod of Johnstown, and Charles Sowerbrower (Susan) of Kettering, OH; sisters-in-law Vida Penrod and Beverly Penrod; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Tom worked and lived in Lynn, MA before becoming an over-the-road truck driver out of Brownsville, TX. His CB handle was “Iceman”. Family and friends will be received Friday, February 16, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Johnstown, Pa 15906. A service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Green Cemetery in Waterford, Pa, at a later date.
