Obituary

Burkett, Estelle, 95, Johnstown, went to heaven February 24, 2024. Born February 17, 1929 to the late Benjamin and Alma (Horton) Mixon. Preceded in death by loving husband Eugene Burkett; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Stephen Zahoran; and son-in-law, Jim Weinzierl. Survived by daughter, Margaret Weinzierl, Sally Allison (Carl), Deborah Sojak (Richard); son, Eugene Burkett Jr. (Tiffany Kreiger); 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Isabelle Cherney; and brother-in-laws, Sam, Walt, and Dick.  Estelle retired from being a director for food service at Ferndale. She was also a greeter at Walmart and the president of the Woman’s Fellowship at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. The family will be celebrating her life March 9, 2024 at 11:00 at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 856 Benshoff Hill Rd. Johnstown, Pa 15906.
