Obituary

Lech, Joseph, 74 passed away on October 21, 2024. Born in Johnstown on November 1, 1949. Joe was a 1967 graduate of Bishop McCort High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a former employee of Laffey’s Tavern and had retired from the city of Johnstown. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, George, Sr. and Evelyn (Goggin) Lech, and his brothers, George, Jr. and Raymond. Joe is survived by his sister, Joan and her husband, David J. Distefano; his niece, Casey Staib Goller and her husband, Richard Goller, and their children, Landon and Mackenzie; his niece, Stacie Lech and her children, Julia (Zack) and Hannah (Zach); his numerous aunts and cousins; and his uncle. There will be no visitation in accordance with Joe’s wishes. A service will be held at the convenience of the family with inurnment at Grandview Cemetery.
