Obituary

Bowers, Wendy J., age 69, of Johnstown, PA, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of December 19, 2024, surrounded by love and comfort. She bravely faced a long and challenging battle with breast cancer beginning in 2007. Wendy will be profoundly missed and is survived by her loving husband, Allen Bowers; her four daughters, Amanda Freidhoff (Todd); Rebecca Hancharick (Gerald); Jill Roberts (Matt); and Stephanie Jones (Seth); four beautiful grandchildren, Jarell, Elony’a, Grace, and Corbin; her sisters, Cindy Gray and Vicki Coleman held a special place in her heart; her faithful and beloved pets, Athena, Rocky, and Miss Cleo; plus many, many more family members and friends whom all loved her. Wendy retired in 2023 from Rite Aid after 20+ long years. Her greatest passions in life were painting, reading, craft shows, art, and spending time with her family, pets, and friends. Wendy’s love of art extended through the years as she collected antiques, pottery, and jewelry. Wendy will leave behind her legacy of footprints with purpose and the deep impressions she made on us all throughout her life. Viewing will be held from 1-3 p.m. and 5 -7 p.m. followed by a service at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held later for those unable to attend.
