Obituary

Schellhammer – Richard L. “Deacon” Schellhammer, 74, of Windber, passed away on March 8, 2025. Born on December 6, 1950, in Johnstown, PA, youngest child of James V. and Geraldine S. (McGuire) Schellhammer. Preceded in death by parents and siblings, James, Donald “Chub”, and Glenn Schellhammer, Ardythe “Mutz” Brunetto, and Eleanor Chromy. Also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters-in-law. Survived by siblings, Marlene Kleman, Eilene Sarlouis (Gary), Gerald Schellhammer (Joyce), Donna Anderson, and Frank Schellhammer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by special nephew, Gary (Muggs) Sarlouis and special friends, Louise Foust and Kevin and Tammy Miller. Rick graduated from Franklin High School, Class of 1969, and served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed attending car shows and camping in Benezette, PA. Rick will be deeply missed by his family and friends. As Deacon would say…“Jesus loves you and so do I!” At Rick’s request there will be no viewing or service.
