Obituary
Mary Jane Sewalk, 82, Sidman, returned to the Lord on June 7, 2025. A victim of Alzheimer’s Disease, born February 8, 1943, in Johnstown, daughter of Clarence and Julia (Freiwald) Stager. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Florence Noble; and brother, Donald Stager. Survived by high school sweetheart and loving husband of 61 years, Chester R. Sewalk; children, Chester J. (Sarah), Buffalo Mills; Stephen (Kerry), Elton; Theresa, Bedford; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Marley, Dalton, Olivia, Madison; sister, Nancy Larson (Bryan); numerous nieces and nephews; and special niece and friend, Terry Ann Hetzlein, who helped with her care, as well as caregiver, Claudia Minor. Mary Jane was a girlfriend and wife for 62 years. She worked as a store clerk (soda jerk), was trained and worked as a beautician, drove school bus, kept financials and worked in the family’s automotive business, and was a well-known Croyle Township tax collector for 30 years. Her family was her life, being a loving wife and mother. Mary Jane never met a stranger. At Mary Jane’s request there will be no viewing. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday June 16th at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church, 550 Main St., South Fork, PA 15956.
