Obituary
On June 14, 2025, heaven called on our angel, Leah Marie (Blackburn) Ledwich. Born June 21, 1982, to J. Edward and Judy (Hildebrand) Blackburn Jr. Preceded in death by infant brother, J. Edward Blackburn III, and grandparents, Cliff and Phyliss Hildebrand. Survived by parents; loving husband of 14 years, Edward Ledwich II; sons, Joshua and Levi Ledwich; brother, Weston Blackburn and wife Chelsea; grandparents, J. Edward and Shirley Blackburn; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Patricia Ledwich; sister and brother-in-law, Nicolette (Ledwich) and husband Vinny Nocera; niece, Clara Blackburn; nephew, Anthony Nocera; and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins. Leah was a 2000 graduate of Windber High School, a 2003 graduate of University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where she received a degree in respiratory, and a 2011 graduate of Mount Aloysius where she studied to be a physical therapist assistant. Leah then dedicated her life to raising her two children, Josh and Levi, and taking care of the books for her husband’s small business. Leah was a devoted, compassionate, and loving mother and wife. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, camping, reading countless books, going for rides on the dirt roads, listening to country music and spending time with her family, which she loved more than anything. She was always the prettiest girl in the room and had a way of brightening your day with just her beautiful smile. Our lives will be forever changed, but we can find peace in our hearts knowing Leah is now serving our Lord and Savior in heaven and will always be with us no matter where we are. Leah will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Family will welcome friends Friday June 20th from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations to be made in Leah’s memory to St. Jude.
