Obituary

Frederick Petrovcic Sr., 84, of Belleville passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at Celebration Villa in Reedsville. Born September 29, 1940, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Melavec) Petrovcic. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Craig ) Petrovcic of Connellsville; children, Cindy Petrovcic, of Connellsville, Fred Petrovcic Jr. of, Grindstone, Brian Petrovcic and wife, Mindy, of McAllisterville, Todd Petrovcic and significant other Lacey Baker, of McClure; grandchildren, Samantha Petrovcic married to Dr. Ryan Semko, of Knoxville Tn., Scott Spickler, of Connellsville, Brian Petrovcic Jr., of McAllisterville, Benjamin Petrovcic, of McAllisterville, Ryan Petrovcic of McClure; great-grandchildren, Izabella Petrovcic, of Beaver Springs, Connor Semko, of Knoxville, Tn., Alison Semko of Knoxville Tn. Fred graduated from Connemaugh High school in 1959, and he graduated from Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1969. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1965 at Fort Gordon GA, during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed at the Pennsylvania State Police Stationed at Lewistown Barracks. Fred loved the Steelers and Penn State Football teams, salmon fishing in New York, cutting firewood, carpentry work, camping and spending time with family. He enjoyed his hobby of coin collecting. At a younger age, he took his Family traveling to almost every state in the USA. We visited Every Fort from the Rev. War to the Civil War. We visited Cape Canaveral, Disney World, The Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore Mexico and more. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 pm., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Hindman Funeral Home, 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown, PA 15902. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am., Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St Barnabas Chapel in 408 Luzon St., Johnstown, PA 15902. Internment will take place at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, with full state police honors.
