Obituary

Mary Louise Parson, 50, Johnstown, passed away on April 13, 2026. Born on October 26, 1975, to Terry and Patricia (Rokosz) Johnson.  Preceded in death by father, Terry Johnson. Survived by husband, Bob Fitzpatrick; mother, Patty Johnson; sister, Jesse Johnson and husband, Evan Harris; brother, Ian Johnson; nephews, Gavin Harris and Izaak Harris; best friend, Angie Kovach; and loyal cat, playmate, and friend, Samba. Mary was the executive director of the YWCA. She was the living heartbeat of the organization and took great pride in her work. She put her heart and soul into her work, and her kindness touched many lives over the years. She enjoyed attending concerts and weekends at Raystown Lake and Forks Cottage with friends. She was an avid Pirates fan and enjoyed attending games.  To know Mary was to love her, she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community. Her sister, Jesse, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mary’s friends who sat by her side and showed their love and support to the family. Their presence and stories were a great comfort.
