Obituary

Carol Ann Kovach Kopera, 69, of Hastings, beloved wife of Joseph, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 12, 1942, in Spangler; she was a daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Parzatka) Kovach. She was a graduate of Hastings High School where she was a majorette for 4 years and a member of the St. Bernard’s Church Sodality.
She is survived by her loving husband and High School Sweetheart with over 51 years of marriage; three children: Dr. Mark (Pam) Kopera of Hastings, Karen (Preston Sparks) Kopera of Bear Rocks, PA and Michael (Kelly) Kopera of Evans City, PA; three grandchildren: Kristin, Gabrielle and Jarrett; and especially loved by her niece, Sue (Ken) Miller and their daughters, Malorie, Marcie and Courtney, as well as many other nieces and nephews and closest friends, Bill & Darlene Kenjora and her neighborhood angels.
Carol was very talented and enjoyed gardening having won awards for her garden flowers and decorations for the Holiday Seasons. She also had a passion for sewing and crafting. As a master seamstress, she loved to sew clothes as well as costumes. Her caring talents included ceramics, stain glass, cross stitch and quilting. Other hobbies included bowling, golf and traveling with trips to Europe, the Middle East and across the United States enjoying returns to Tuscan Arizona as a snowbird. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
She had many friends having served as a Mary Kay consultant for 21 years. She served actively in her community and was a member of St. Bernard’s parish. Proud of her and her children’s Roman Catholic education there.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at Easly- Hindman Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.,Hastings.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church Hastings. Burial at the church Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend Thanks to friends, relatives and parish members for their many prayers, cards, wishes and kindnesses during Carol’s illness.
