Obituary

David R. Plummer, 68, of Altoona, died Monday Feb 11, 2013 at the Altoona Hospital.

He was the son of William and Pauline (Lennard) Plummer.

He married M. Joan (Stetter) in 1993.

Surviving are his wife, children: Bill, Jody (Scott) Culp, Altoona, their children: Andrew and Adrienne; and Cathy (Eric) Pathi, their children: Myer and Liza; stepchildren and grandchildren: Mary (Michael) Mitchell, Ann (Aubrie and Morgan) Cresswell, Regina (D.J.) Polito, and Denise (Peter) Mitchell.
Three sisters; Shirley Rader, Yvonne Ryan, and Susan Sprangle, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Proceeded in death by brothers: Dick, Ron, and Bill Plummer.

After graduating from Altoona High School in 1962, he managed Herb’s Kentucky Fried Chicken for many years; providing many good amusing memories which he often shared.

His great joy, though, came from his service at Penn State Altoona where he serviced as a maintenance man in the dorms.

He loved Penn State and he loved the many students he served.

He retired in 2004 from Penn State.

He enjoyed camping, hiking, but especially biking the Lower Rail to Trails, where he had made many friends over the years.

His sickness and suffering span 14 years, surviving by his sensational love for his family, exceptional ability to find serenity, and his passionate dedication to his love for life.

“The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time”.

The family will be honoring David’s wishes and celebrate his life privately; there will be no public service.
