Obituary

Dom, Elizabeth “Betty”, 93, Johnstown, died April 13, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 2, 1917 in Johnstown, daughter of the late William and Queen (Muller) Keppler. Preceded in death by husband, Merle G. Dom (March 14, 1989); sisters, Queen McFeaters and Lovenia Keppler; brothers Edmund, Roy and William Keppler and infant daughter Hazel Ann Dom.

Survived by son, David and wife Ruth, New Market, MD; granddaughter, Teresa, married to Travis Risley, Scott Air Force Base, ILL; great-granddaughter, Kori, Clarksburg, TN; great-grandson, Joel, Scott Air Force Base, ILL; brothers, Richard Keppler and wife, Heather, Gaithersburg, MD and Robert Keppler, Sylmar, CA; step grandsons, Thomas Zebroski and wife, Julie, Woodsboro, MD and Steve Zebroski and wife, Lynn, Mt. Airy, MD; nieces, Queen Lesko and husband, Robert, Fruita, CO; Donna Hogue and husband, David, Johnstown; Patricia Keppler, Johnstown; Allyson Yount and husband Ivan, Shelocta, PA; Heather Seid and husband, Richard, Laytonsville, MD and Linda Zack and husband, Barry, Cleveland, OH and nephews, Bill McFeaters and wife, Tina, Johnstown; Roger Keppler and wife, Terry, Houston, TX and Douglas Keppler and wife, Stella, Houston, TX. Also survived by many loving grand nieces, nephews and eight step great-grandchildren.

Betty was a graduate of Johnstown High School, Class of 1935, life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, member and past worthy matron of Eastern Star, Lawton, OK; past president of National Secretaries Association, Oklahoma branch and a member of the Morrellville Church of the Brethren, all her life. She was a court stenographer for the Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of PA and a stenographer for the Department of Army. From 1976 to 1989 she and Merle spent their winters in Sebring, FL and summers at Woodland Park in Ebensburg, PA.

Friends received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm Thursday at the Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc, 146 Chandler Ave., where service will be held at 11am Friday. Rev. John Manges, officiating.
