Obituary

Bragdon, Alice “Mema” 78, Johnstown, passed away on December 28, 2024. Born May 18, 1946, to the late George and Jane (Sanders) Wilson. Preceded in death by her husband, David H. Bragdon and brother, George Wilson. Survived children, Letitia Lorence (Doug) and Patrick Bragdon (Olivia); grandchildren, Hayley Jones (Jackson), Camryn Lorence, Jack Lorence, Cooper Lorence, Patrick Bragdon, and Porter Bragdon; great-grandchildren, Presley, Ellie, and Mac Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and siblings, Pete Wilson (Judy) and Letitia Murphy. Alice was very active in her community. She was devoted to the Cambria County Republican Party where she helped many candidates run their election campaigns and served as a delegate and treasurer. Her heart was always with her family as she served as Daisy Scout leader, neighborhood summer school “teacher” and backyard flag football referee. Even while she was battling her illness, she attended every event her grandchildren participated in. She was strong in faith and was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for nearly 50 years. She also served on the board of the Richland School District Foundation. Alice was a nurse at Mercy Hospital and later worked as an accountant in the internal audit department at Conemaugh Hospital. She was a graduate of the Washington School of Nursing and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed all things Pitt football. Alice will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to thank all of Alice’s friends, neighbors, and caregivers who helped her along the way. A visitation will be held on January 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd.
