Obituary

Mason, Alice F., 94, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2023 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born April 14, 1929 in Johnstown to the late Charles and Geneva (Snow) Frischauf. Preceded in death by parents; and sisters Carrie Eberhart, Geneva Margroum, and Betty Cover. Survived by nieces Diane Christine of Johnstown and Jacque Kindra of Chicago. Alice was a graduate of Johnstown High School. She lived in Washington D.C. until her retirement. Alice worked for the Defense Mapping Agency, now known as the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, as a travel officer. During her time there the topography of the moon was mapped out for the first time. She received many commendations for her superior performance. She loved music and the theater. She was a devoted supporter of the Arcadia Theatre in Windber, attending all performances. She was very patriotic, loving, loyal, generous, thoughtful, and a snappy dresser. She was special to all of us. Alice’s family would like to thank the loving and dedicated staff at Crossroads for their tireless and excellent care. We also want to thank Windber Hospice for their care. At Alice’s request there will be no public viewing. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Grandview Cemetery. Pastor Michael Christine, Officiating.
