Obituary

Angeline “Angie” S. Polonkey, 93, Johnstown, passed away on Septemeber 9, 2026. Born on October 14, 1932, to the late Ross and Francesca (Corriero) Pingatore. Preceded in death by loving husband, Richard A.; son, Mark C. Polonkey; siblings, Anthony Pingatore (Rosary), Emma Mesteller (Julius), Ralph Pingatore, and Yolanda Buchan (Walter); and in-laws, Louis and Helen Polonkey, Dorothy and Dan Berchin, and Don Lehman. Survived by children, Louis Polonkey (Marcia), Matthew Polonkey (Angie), Christine Clark (Kevin), and Richard Polonkey; grandchildren, Heather Crowe (Michael), Steven Polonkey (Quenna), Luke Polonkey, Ian Clark, Sarah Clark, Jill Clark (Jeremy), and Zander Polonkey; great grandchildren, Emilia Crowe, Everly Crowe, Hayden Kelly and Colby Polonkey; brother, Joseph Pingatore (Rose); in-laws, Betsy Lehman and Penny Haser (Edward); and numerous nieces and nephews. Angeline was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration. She loved flowers, gardening, crosswords, reading, and cooking. Above all else she loved spending time with and feeding her family.

“Mom taught us a lot of things, but she didn’t teach us how to live without her.  We will miss her fiercely.”

Friends will be received from 1:00 until 7:00 on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Hindman Funeral Homes, 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, PA 15902. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 10:00 at the Church of the Transfiguration, 220 Oak Street, Conemaugh, PA 15909. Angeline will be laid to rest at St. Anthony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be shared in Angeline’s honor to St. Clement Church – Food Pantry, 110 Lindberg Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15905.
